St. Matthew’s Children’s Weekday Ministries programs are designed to meet the developmental needs of young children, nurtured by our Christian community and surrounded by God’s love.

Each child is assisted in succeeding at his or her own rate and encouraged to develop self-acceptance and self-fulfillment. Children are introduced to skills necessary for positive, successful school experiences and for use in practical life.

All staff members participate annually in continuing education events to ensure the highest quality care for the children in our programs. Our personnel are trained in CPR and first aid.

We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the children who participate in our programs.

Our facilities include the following enrichments for your children to enjoy:

• Children’s library, weekly for Twos and PreK
• Indoor gymnasium
• Age appropriate outdoor playgrounds
• Music, weekly for all classrooms
• Spanish instructor for PreK children
• Chapel for PreK children, weekly

ALL EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD.

Claire School of Dance offers classes weekly at 2:00 p.m. for children 3 years and older 

Arts Alive, an integrated art class, is offered weekly during Extended Care for toddlers and preschool children.

Soccer Shots is offered weekly during the school day for children 2 years and older.

Preschool - Infant and Toddler - Twos Program

Our preschool program is for children ages 3 months to 2 years.  Qualified childcare workers provide loving care for all children.  Call for tuition information.

PreKindergarten Program

The preschool at St. Matthew's is for children ages 3 and 4 years.  Our teaching staff uses broad, thematic units of study including language, math, and science.  Studies also include multi-cultural activities.  Special enrichment classes include music and Spanish, and students participate in weekly chapel experiences.  Preschool teachers work with young children and offer a low teacher/child ratio.  Call for tuition information.

Early Bird and Extended Care

Early Bird and Extended Care is available for children enrolled in our Preschool and PreK programs. Call for rates. 

Early Bird Care 
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. (availability is subject to space)

Extended After-School Care (No extended care is offered on Fridays; the entire campus closes at 2:00 p.m.)
Monday-Thursday, 2:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. (availability is subject to space)

Extended Care is paid monthly with tuition.

Kid’s Day Out - Offered from June-August

Our Summer Camp is offered to elementary-aged children from Kindergarten through 5th grades.

St. Matthew's Children's Weekday Ministries is licensed by the State of Texas.  Its programs are governed by the St. Matthew's CWM Board, composed of parents, teachers, church members, St. Matthew's CWM director, and children’s department coordinators. This governing body is responsible for the program’s policies.

St. Matthew's Children’s Weekday Ministries and Child Development Center are ministries of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church.  St. Matthew’s is open to all children without regard to race, creed, gender, or national origin.
